GAMA-1’s Digital Transformation Center of Excellence Team (DT-CoE) attends this year’s AWS Summit in Washington DC to level up their abilities to support the “public sector in using the cloud to innovate rapidly and digitally transform, to improve stakeholders’ lives, and deliver on their mission.”
Our team attended many break-out sessions to discover how many AWS customers are adapting to the post-pandemic future and constructing innovative solutions in the cloud to become more agile and respond faster to change. Our team members found inspiration from customer stories regarding their “hows” and “whys” they migrated to the AWS Cloud and how they dove into digital transformation, culture change, and infrastructure modernization. GAMA-1’s DT-CoE walked away with shared experiences and lessons learned from their peers and colleagues and rethinking how we deliver services.
GAMA-1 proudly won 1st place in the AWS Summit GameDay Challenge. GameDay is a collaborative learning exercise that tests skills in implementing AWS solutions to solve real-world problems in a gamified, risk-free environment. This is an entirely hands-on opportunity for technical professionals to explore AWS services, architecture patterns, best practices, and group cooperation. The AWS approach is unconventional compared to other learning formats. Ambiguity and non-prescriptive guidance allow teams to think creatively as they navigate a wide array of technical challenges. There is no one correct answer; crews pave their path based on resources we provide them within live AWS accounts. If you enjoy open-ended challenges without step-by-step instructions, look no further. The setting for every GameDay is our famous (fictitious) narrative.
