GAMA-1 Staff Contributions
Four of these outstanding individuals are part of the GAMA-1 team: Tracey Dorian, Brandon Laufer, Priyanka Roy, and Qiang Zhao. Their hard work and dedication played a critical role in the success of the CrIS SDR team, making significant impacts on the LEO Program.
Accomplishments
Tracey Dorian acted as the Lifecycle QA, meticulously scheduling kick-off meetings and Agile demos throughout the project lifecycle. Her proactive communication with Dr. Likun Wang (science team lead) and AK Sharma (OSPO PAL) ensured that VRC requirements, inputs, outputs, verification needs, and the integration of quality information and Product Monitoring variables were seamlessly addressed.
Brandon Laufer excelled in ensuring clear and accurate communication of Production Rules, making them easy for the NESDIS Common Cloud Framework (NCCF) to understand. He also took on the demanding task of running verification runs and comparing GMTCO and GMODO runs for NCCF and Dr. Likun Wang, an effort that required significant time and dedication.
Priyanka Roy was instrumental in ensuring the Reformatting Toolkit’s ability to ingest VRC intermediate files, thereby enhancing the NUCAPS CrIS C2211 and C0431 BUFR products. Her rigorous testing before and after the VRC enhancement to the CrIS BUFR encoder for both sample cases was crucial in verifying different input file combinations with or without VRC data.
Qiang Zhao played a pivotal role in conducting a series of tests before and after the VRC enhancement, ensuring the integrity and reliability of the CrIS BUFR encoder. His diligent work in verifying different input file combinations has been essential to the project’s success.
“I am immensely proud of the CrIS SDR team’s achievements and their unwavering commitment to excellence. Their recognition with the Unseen Hero Award is a testament to their dedication, expertise, and hard work. Congratulations to all the awardees, and a special shout-out to our GAMA-1 staff for their outstanding contributions” commented Gus Gamarra, GAMA-1 Technologies President.
